Hondo District Chief Terry Protheroe was born in London, and lived in Amsterdam and New York City before moving to Santa Fe in 2008. He has been a Bread Baker, Pastry Chef, Goldsmith, Carpenter, Product Designer, Furniture Maker and Leather Artist. In his free time he enjoys restoring vintage motorcycles.
District Chief Protheroe joined the Hondo Volunteer Fire District in 2008 and is certified in Wildland Firefighting and is a Firefighter level I. He served as the Rescue Training Officer and taught extrication techniques for the past 3 years. He became Lieutenant of Hondo in 2011. In December of 2015 he had the honor of being promoted to District Chief of the department and is very proud to serve his community in that capacity.
